Meet Ruth Fitzgerald

Regional Director of Sales

A member of the hospitality sales industry since 1988, Ruth Fitzgerald most recently served as director of sales for the TradeWinds Sirata and Sandpiper Beach Resorts. Previously the director of sales for the TradeWinds Sandpiper Hotel & Suites, Ruth's past sales experience also includes national sales manager positions with the TradeWinds Resort, the St. Petersburg/Clearwater Convention & Visitors Bureau, Safety Harbor Resort and Spa, and the Adam's Mark Resort.

Ruth was named an HSMAI Certified Hospitality Marketing Executive in 1996, and a Certified Hospitality Sales Professional by the American Hotel Motel Association in 1993. Ruth has several industry awards including being named FSAE Associate Member of the Year in 1999. In 2000 she was honored as TradeWinds Island Resorts & Conference Centers Corporate Manager of the Year and in 2001 received Tampa Chapter of MPI's Rising Star Award. She later received MPI's President's Award in 2003, and received the MPI International Tomorrow's Leader Award in 2005.

Ruth has served on the FSAE Foundation Board of Trustees, is a Past President for the Tampa Chapter of Meeting Professionals International, has chaired the TSAE certification committee, and is past chairperson of the St. Pete/Clearwater CVB's meeting planning advisory board. In addition to her professional memberships and duties, Ruth has to her credit three published articles and has enjoyed speaking to FSAE, TSAE and MPI audiences on contract liability and leadership development. Ruth joined DMI in May of 2001.
